Welcome to My Study
I’m Pastor Jo. I have been in pastoral ministry since 2020 and serve Dream Community Church in Iksan, South Korea. It’s a small church, and for most of the week I am the whole staff: preacher, teacher, administrator, media team, and the person who fixes the projector.
Why This Blog Exists
Pastoring a church on your own means there is always more work than hours. So I started asking a simple question: can AI tools give a solo pastor some of the help a larger staff would provide, without cutting corners on study or on people?
This blog is my record of that effort. I share how I have tried to bring AI into three areas of my ministry:
- Research: working through commentaries, original languages, and my Bible software library more thoroughly, in less time
- Study: shaping a personal study environment, including tools I’ve built for my own study
- Ministry: sermon preparation, worship media, church administration, and communication
Not everything has worked. I write about the failures and limits as honestly as the wins, and about where I draw the line as a pastor.
Who This Is For
- Pastors serving small churches, or serving alone
- Ministry leaders who are curious about AI but tired of the hype
- Anyone who wants tested, practical workflows rather than predictions
What You’ll Find Here
- Digital Ministry: Hands-on notes on the AI and software I use, including Logos Bible Software, ProPresenter, Claude, Midjourney, Suno, and tools I’ve built for my own study. Screenshots, versions, and honest mistakes included.
- Biblical Insights: Studies of Scripture from the pulpit of a small church.
- Korean Terminology & Church Culture: Occasional notes on Korean church life, for readers curious about the context I serve in.
How I Write
Korean is my first language. I draft my posts in Korean and use AI tools to help translate and polish the English. The experiences, opinions, and theological convictions are my own, and I review every post before it is published. If something reads awkwardly, I would rather keep it honest than make it sound perfect.
When I write about software, I describe what I personally tested, on the date and version noted in the post. Tools change quickly, so please check the details against the current version before relying on them.
